Prof. Dr. Sadettin HÜLAGÜ

Dr Ayris is Pro-Vice-Provost (UCL Library Services). He joined UCL in 1997.

Dr Ayris was the President of LIBER (Association of European Research Libraries) 2010-14. He is Co-Chair of the LERU (League of European Research Universities) INFO Community. He chairs the OAI Organizing Committee for the Cern-Unige Workshops on Innovations in Scholarly Communication. He is also Chair of JISC Collections’ Content Strategy Group. On 1 August 2013, Dr Ayris became Chief Executive of UCL Press. He is a member of the Provost and President’s Senior Management Team in UCL.

He has a Ph.D. in Ecclesiastical History and publishes on English Reformation Studies. In 2019, he was made a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.

Dr. Paul AYRIS

Dr Ayris Londra Üniversitesi Akademisi Kütüphane Hizmetleri başkanıdır. 1997’de Londra Üniversitesi Akademisi’ne (UCL) katıldı.

Dr. Ayris LIBER 2010-14 yılları arasında Avrupa Araştırma Kütüphaneleri Derneği’ne (LIBER) başkanlık yaptı. Avrupa Araştırma Üniversiteleri Birliği (LERU) Bilgi Topluluğunun eş başkanıdır. M. Mirat SATOĞLU

M. Mirat Satoglu is the director of the National Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBIM) of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). ULAKBIM manages the national catalogue of all libraries and provides collection development services, TR Index services and JournalPark open journal hosting services along with other information services.

During Mr. Satoglu’s tenure, TUBITAK ULAKBIM has led several open science initiatives within TUBITAK such as TUBITAK Open Science Policy, Aperta national open archive for research data and Harman national harvester.

Mr. Satoglu serves as national delegate of ERAC SWG Open Science and Innovation, governing board member of SCOAP3, governing board of EOSC.

Before ULAKBİM, Mr. Satoglu worked as an IT professional for various international companies. He holds a BSc in Computer Engineering from the Bilkent University, MSc from the Ege University and MLA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Tiberius IGNAT

Tiberius Ignat is the Director of Scientific Knowledge Services, a company which specialises in helping the European libraries to embrace new technologies and ways of working. He runs in partnership with UCL Press and LIBER Europe a successful series of workshops – Focus On Open Science, now in its fourth year. He is a long-time individual member of LIBER, member of European Citizen Science Association and Citizen Science Association (US) and a member of the Scientific Committee for OAI11, the CERN – UNIGE Workshop on Innovations in Scholarly Communication.

Tiberius Ignat has a personal interest in Open Science, particularly Citizen Science and the management of this cultural change.

He has a PhD in Library and Information Science from the University of Bucharest.

Kristiina Hormia-Poutanen is the director of Library Network Services at the National Library of Finland (NLF). She is a director who leads the development of national infrastructure services for HE institutions, public libraries, archives, museums, and other public sector institutions.

The Library Network Services provides national infrastructure services for libraries (universities’ and universities of applied sciences’ libraries, special libraries as well as public libraries), archives, museums and for the public sector as a whole. The services can be divided into two main categories:1) services that improve access to information and 2) metadata and bibliographic services. The services that improve access to information are: national licensing (FinELib), national institutional repository services and national discovery and PaaS service, Finna (finna.fi). Metadata services include development of metadata standards and guidelines as well as national ontologies (finto.fi), development and streamlining of metadata production in collaboration with HE institutions and libraries as well as commercial organisations. The National Ontology Service Finto (finto.fi) is an infrastructure service which is used widely in Finland. It is also a building block for Artificial Intelligence services.

Kristiina Hormia-Poutanen is the director of two research infrastructures of the Finnish Research Infrastructure Roadmap (2014–2020), namely FinELib and Finna.

She is the former President and current special adviser of LIBER, the Association of European Research Libraries. Fostering Open Science is a priority of LIBER, which represents ca. 440 research libraries across 40 countries in Europe. LIBER has been actively fostering Open Science especially in the fields of Open Access, Research Data Management, FAIR Data, Digital Humanities, as well as leadership and skills development. Advocacy related to the copyright reform, raising awareness, building strategic partnerships and being active in EU projects related to Open Science are also among the duties of LIBER.

Kristiina Hormia-Poutanen is a member of the Open Science Policy Platform of the European Commission. She is the only person representing libraries in the expert group. The mandate of the OSPP is to advice the Commission on Open Science policy; to practically implement the European Open Science Policy Agenda; improve the quality and impact of European scientific research across member states and internationally; to identify related stakeholder groups. The OSPP consists of 25 high-level representatives of European Open Science stakeholders. The OSPP has published recommendations in 2018 that cover the eight priorities of the Commission.

She has been a member of steering committees of the Open Science and Research Initiative as well as the National Digital Library in Finland. The Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture coordinated the Open Science and Research Initiative (ATT) for the term 2014–2017. The objective was for Finland to become one of the leading countries in Open Science and Research and to ensure the possibilities of Open Science are widely utilised in our society. The National Digital Library of Finland developed the availability and usability of digital cultural heritage; preservation of digital cultural heritage; digitisation of cultural heritage and collaboration between libraries, archives, and museums. The National Library of Finland is responsible for the development of the National Discovery Service Finna (finna.fi). Based on external evaluation, Finna has been the most successful of the NDL services.

Kristiina Hormia-Poutanen is also a member of the Digital Heritage Expert Group and she has been a member of the Europeana board and the Europeana executive committee during 2010–2015. The mandate of the Digital Heritage Expert Group is to assist the Commission in relation to the implementation of existing EU legislation, programmes, and policies; to coordinate with the member states, exchange of views; give guidance on Europeana, in particular the general objectives, priorities for actions, and the envisaged level of funding to be proposed for the Europeana core service platform and generic services in the annual Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) work programmes.

She is a member of the Finnish Research Information Hub – a new window into Finnish research for the term 2017–2020.

Kristiina Hormia-Poutanen has extensive national and international networks related to Open Science (Open Access, research data management, research infrastructures, skills development, libraries, consortia); open innovation and open discovery.

Prof.Dr. Ümit KONYA

In 1984, she graduated from the Department of Librarianship of Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters in 1984. In 1986, she started to work as a librarian in Marmara University Library and Documentation Department. He passed to Istanbul University Faculty of Literature, Department of Librarianship as an Instructor in 1993. During this period, he completed his Master and Doctorate in Marmara University, Department of Production Management and Marketing, on Marketing of Marketing Library Services and User Behaviors. In 2002, he was appointed as Assist. Prof. 2012 Associate Professor in 2012 and Professor in 2018. Between 2015 and 2016, he served as the deputy of the Istanbul University Library. During his career at the department, he served as Deputy Head of Department, Head and Board of TKD Istanbul Branch for various periods. Konya, which has carried out a large number of projects, is still the Head of Istanbul University Information and Document Management Department.

Dr. Akos LENCSES

Ákos Lencsés is data steward at Govemmental Agency for IT Development, Hungary (KIFÜ), with a strong focus on Open Science. Ákos was trained as librarian and mathematician, and received his PhD at Eötvös Loránd University. He worked actively as a librarian between 2002 and 2020 at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office, and Budapest Corvinus University (the leading university at economics in Hungary). He helds lectures on library and information science at Kodolányi János University, and formerly at the Hungarian Library Institute of National Széchényi Library. He is member of the Scientific Committee on Statistics and Future Research of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He was awarded with the prize ’Young Librarian of the Year’ in 2012 by the Association of Hungarian Librarians, and the Alliance of Libraries and Information Institutes. He is member of the Academy of Young Researchers (Hungary). He spent 5 years as Head of Institutional Coordination at the Electronic Information Service National Programme (EISZ) at the Library and Information Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. EISZ, as the Hungarian national consortium for e-resources, provides access to more than 60 scientific journal collections and databases for 240 member institutions. The consortium is also an early adopter of transformative Open Access agreements in Eastern Europe. Since 2021 he has been actively involved in the NI4OS-Europe project. He dedicated time to Research Data Management and stakeholder management, has been developing the Research Data Management and FAIR modules for KIFÜ’s e-learning course.

Mustafa Kemal ÇELEBİ

Mustafa Kemal Çelebi graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Letters with a degree in library science in 1990. After starting his career as a librarian in public libraries affiliated with Ministry of Culture, he moved on to Çukurova University Library and has been working there since 1996. He is currently the Unit Supervisor of Periodicals and Electronic Sources Unit. Since 2004, he has participated in various ANKOS (Anatolian University Libraries Consortium) activities in various positions as an ANKOS Volunteer. Currently, he is the Database Liasion and an ANKOS Academy Group member within ANKOS.

Ece TUFANYAZICI

Ece Tufanyazıcı graduated from the “Department of Information Management” at Istanbul University in 2016. After graduation, she studied English in the UK. She has been working on databases and serials department at Istanbul Bilgi University Library since 2017. She has been volunteering of Anatolian University Libraries Consortium (ANKOS) since 2018. She is the database liaison for HeinOnline and Westlaw International databases. She is also a member of the license agreements group in ANKOS.

Ahmet Faruk BİLGEN

Ahmet Faruk BİLGEN graduated from Istanbul University, Information and Document Management in 2017. After working as a Librarian at Ibn Haldun University, he has been working in the Electronic Resources unit of The Nation’s Library since 2019. He has been volunteering of Anatolian University Libraries Consortium (ANKOS) since 2018. He is the database liaison and a member of the User Statistics Group in ANKOS.

Prof. Hamza KANDUR

After graduating from Hacettepe University, Department of Library Sciences in 1986, Dr. Hamza Kandur completed his masters at Loughborough University of Technology, Department of Library Archives and Information Studies, and his PhD at University College London, School of Library Archives and Information Studies, with his thesis “Electronic Records Management”. After completing his postgraduate studies Dr. Kandur returned to Turkey and took up a post as a lecturer at Marmara University.

Dr. Kandur became an Associate Professor at Marmara University in 1998. In 2006 Dr. Kandur became a full professor and is the head of the Information and Records Management Department at Marmara University. Between 2010 and 2104, He was worked as the Vice-Rector of Marmara University and represented Marmara University at the Inter-University Board from 2011 until 2015. In 2018, he is appointed as the Vice-Rector of Antalya Bilim University and moved to Antalya. Main research areas are in Electronic Records Management, Records Management Standards and E-Government.

Doç. Dr. Güssün GÜNEŞ

Güssün Güneş was born in the district of Reşadiye in Turkey’s province of Tokat. In 1996, she graduated from the Library Science Division of the Department of Documentation and Information at Istanbul University. Receiving a Master’s Degree in 1999 from the same university, she was granted a Doctorate from Marmara University in 2009 in Information and Records Management. During the period 1996-2012, Güssün Güneş worked at Koç University School of Nursing as Library Supervisor and Lecturer. She has been serving, as from 2012, as an Associate Professor in the Department of Institutional Archives and as Head of the Department of Libraries and Documentation at Marmara University. Güneş taught Medical Documentation at Bezmialem Foundation University and also Medical Library Science in the Secretariat Division of the same institution over the period 2015-2016. She currently teaches “Communication Models and Techniques” at Marmara University Engineering School and “The Organization of Knowledge” at Medeniyet University and Research Methods in Health Sciences at İstanbul Medipol University Her academic studies include research in academic library science, medical library science, health literacy, digital libraries, information and technical services in library science, electronic resource management, metadata systems and classification, cataloging, the Semantic Web, health informatics, conservation studies in libraries, endurable paper, professional health, dust and pollution in libraries and new generation library buildings. Güssün Güneş has authored and published many academic articles, books, conference papers and posters. Since 2018, she has been the President of the Anatolian Universities Consortium (ANKOS).

Gözde TORUN

Having graduated from Hacettepe University Information Management Department in 2012, Gözde Torun worked as a librarian at Atılım University Library between 2012-2015; as a document controller at TEFIROM Construction Energy Industry and Trade Co. in 2015. She has been working as a Librarian at the Electronic Resources and Acquisition Department of Bilkent University Library since 2016. In addition, between 2017-2021, she had been a member of the executive board of the University and Research Librarians’ Association (ÜNAK). She has been working as a volunteer for Anatolian University Libraries Consortium (ANKOS) since September 2021. She is a database liaison in the ANKOS EBook Working Group. Databases for which she is responsible: Taylor and Francis, Elsevier, and Wiley.

Doç.Dr. Tülün MALKOÇ

In 1985-1986, she admitted to Marmara University Atatürk Education Faculty Music Education Department. She began her ‘’Vocal Training’’ studies with one of the artists from İstanbul State Opera and Ballet, Coşkun Nehir. She graduated in 1989. She worked with Prof. Dr. İlknur Okatan during her undergraduate education. In 1989-1990, she began to work as a lecturer in Marmara University Atatürk Education Faculty Department of Music Education . In the same semester, she continued her master’s degree in Marmara University Institute of Pure and Applied Sciences while working with a member of İstanbul State Opera and Ballet, Begüm Erdem. She worked with İstanbul State Opera and Ballet Youth Choir and participated in solo and choir concerts. She studied harmony with Prof. Cenan Akın and Prof. Dr. Ergen Korkmaz. In 1991-1992, she became a lecturer in the same institution. In June 1992, she completed her master thesis titled ‘’ Breath and Singing Relations’’. Prof. Dr. Yücel Elmas was the advisor of her thesis. In April 1998, she completed her thesis titled‘’The Effect of Voice Training on Voice Functions During Puberty‘’. Prof. Dr. Yücel Elmas was the advisor of her thesis. She did reasearch about her doctoral thesis in Me-Di Voice Clinic with Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ömür. Throughout her master’s degree and doctorate studies, she worked with Prof. Dr. Mesut İktu, a lecturer in Mimar Sinan University Government Conservatury and a soloist artist in İstanbul State Opera and Ballet. In May 8th 2002, she was assigned as an Assistant Professor. Since 1995, she began her studies on consultancy in pre-school music education. In 2009, she wrote 3 books about Pre-School Music Education.Her books entitled ‘’Mathematics with Songs’’, ‘’Let’s Learn With Songs’’, ‘’Let’s Listen to Stories and Sing Songs’’ are used among instructional books in pre-school institutions. Between 1995-2010, she proceeded to work as the Co-head of Music Education Department. Since then, she took part in exams and competitions in many institutions as a juror. She was an art advisor and juror in ‘’Kadıköy Choir Events’’ that was coordinated by Kadıköy Municipality Health and Social Assiatance and Solidarity Foundation.
She took place as the coordinator of Kadıköy Recitals project that was organized by Kadıköy Municipality Kadıköy Volunteers. She conducted seminars about ‘’Vocal Training’’ in ‘’Kasdav Self-Improvement’’ program. She maintains her membership in scientific and professional instutions and her membership in academic board and science commitee membership, guest speaker, and her works about science and art up until today. Since 1998, she continued to organize student concerts and personal concerts. She attents national and international conventions and symposiums. She organizes seminars that would support self-improvement. Since 2004, she conducts researchs, events, projects, and theses about ‘’Music Education for Deaf Students’’. These studies are still continuing today. In 2017, she received the title of Assistant Professor. She works as the thesis advisor and juror for master’s degree and doctorate in Marmara University Institute of Educational Sciences and various universities.

Emre Hasan AKBAYRAK

Emre Hasan Akbayrak is the director of Atılım University Kadriye Zaim Library which is based in Ankara, Turkey. Previously between 2015-2016, he held the position of the outreach librarian at the Middle East Technical University Library, 2006-2015, the associate director of the METU Library, between 2005-2006, the head of Serials and E-Resources Department at the METU Library, and between 2001-2005, the reference librarian at the METU Library. He has been working for ANKOS (Anatolian University Libraries Consortium) since 2002. He is the vice president of Turkish Librarians’ Association and has a master’s degree in Library and Information Science.

Fidan Kurt KASAPBAŞI

She was borned in 1979 in Germany. In 1996 She admitted to Marmara University Atatürk Education Faculty Music Department. Also She admitted to İstanbul University Goverment Conservatury Half time program of Opera department in 1996. She finished both programs simultaniusly. In 2001 Fidan Kurt started her career as a lecturer at Kocaeli University Fine Arts Faculty Music Department with vocal training lessons. Same year she started to P.G. program at Kocaeli University Instıtute of Social Sciences Musicology Department. In 2004 she published her master’s thesis titled “The Availability of Physical and Mental Relaxation Techniques in Voice Training”. Ast. Prof. Dr. Tülin Malkoç was the advisor of her thesis. Between 2003 and 2007 She worked as a voice trainer at Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine Department of Otorhinolaryngology. In 2007 she restructured the Kocaeli University Fine Arts Faculty Choir of Music Department and started to work as a conductor. During her time with them, the choır won “Best Rhytmic Tie” and “Best Rhytmic Harmony” awards at 14.Turkey Polyphonic Choirs Festival; and won “Best Performence in an Original Work” award at 18. Turkey Polyphonic Choirs Festival. During the years at Kocaeli University she gave many concerts as a soloist with Kocaeli University Symphonic Orchestra, also she gave many concerts as a conductor with the Choir of Music Department and Kocaeli University Symphonic Orchestra. She has participated in many workshops and master classes in the field of choır conducting and voice training. In 2012 she transfered to Istanbul Technical University Conservatuary of Turkish Music. She started to work as a lecturer and conductor at İstanbul Technical University Conservatuary of Turkish Music Vocal Department. In 2016 she restructured the choir of Vocal Department and prepeared a new repertoire wich includes polyphonic Works of Western Art Music and Turkish Folk Music. In 2016 Choir of Vocal Department won “Best Folk Music Performance” award in 21. Turkey Polyphonic Choirs Festival. She continiues to work as a lecturer and conductor in I.T.U. Conservatuary of Turkish Music Vocal Department.

Nurgül KILIÇ

Nurgül KILIÇ graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of Information Management in 2008. Then she started to work as a librarian at Ankara University in 2009. After working as a library manager at the Faculty of Health Sciences for 5 years, she has been working in the Library and Documentation Department for 7 years. In addition, she continues his duties as database responsibility in the Anatolian University Libraries Consortium (ANKOS) and a member of the ANKOS Public Relations Group.

Emel Fatma BAYRAKERİ

Graduated from Ankara University Department of Information and Record Management in 2006. She started to work at Swets Information Services as Customer Services Representative same year. She worked at Osmangazi University Library between 2009-2012. She did master’s degree at Osmangazi University. She worked as museum librarian at Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality. She has been working as lecturer at Anadolu University Library Electronic Resources Department since 2015 and she continues her doctoral studies at Istanbul University. She has been voluntering of Anatolian University Libraries Consurtium (ANKOS) since 2018. She is database liason and member of database assesment working group.

Tuna CAN

Tuna Can completed her bachelor’s degree at Hacettepe University Faculty of Letter Department of Library Science in 2004. In 2006, She started to work at Ankara University Library and Documentation Department . She has been working as the Director of Library and Documentation Department since 2017. She is a member of TKD, ÜNAK and ANKOS Association. She has been a member of the ANKOS Association Steering Committee since 2018.

Prof. Dr. Orhan UZUN

He was born in Trabzon in October 18, 1965. He had his graduate degree in Physics Education from Karadeniz Technical University, Fatih Faculty of Education in 1990. Prof. UZUN has a M.Sc. degree (1993) in Physics from Yüzüncü Yıl University and a PhD degree (1998) in Physics from Gazi University.


After working as a physics teacher at Urfa-Siverek Religious Vocational High-School in 1991 for a very short time, he started working as a research assistant at Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversity in 1992. He was appointed as Dr. At Gaziosmanpaşa University in 1998, as Assistant Professor in 1999, as Associate Professor in 2005 and as Professor in 2010.

During and after his PhD study, he worked as a visiting fellow at Sheffield University in the UK and at Stanford University and Silicon Valley in the USA, respectively.

Prof. UZUN, who worked as either researcher or coordinator in 18 R&D projects granted by State Planning Organization, TUBİTAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) and various universities, has been the thesis advisor of 11 dissertations including 5 PhD dissertations.

In addition to working as Project evaluator, reviewer and panelist for TÜBİTAK and different ministries, Prof. UZUN still works in the editorial board of two scientific journals.


Prof. UZUN, who carries out studies on superconductivity, hydrojen storage, smart and nanostructured materials, published 201 research articles and conference proceedings, of which 61 are in SCI-indexed journals. He has been an invited speaker to various national and international conferences and has received 1960 citations till 15 December 2018.

Between 2012-2015 he worked at Bülent Ecevit University and worked in administrative positions such as Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty. Married with three children, Prof. UZUN started working as the President of the Higher Education Quality Council in December 2015 and in April 18, 2017 he was appointed as the Rector of Bartın University by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of the Republic of Turkey.

İsmail ÇETİNKAYA

Having graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Language and History Information and Document Management department in 1998, İsmail ÇETİNKAYA got his master’s degree from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Department of Business.

He worked as a researcher in Ministry of Forestry’s Forestry in Ottoman Times Research Project and publishing study, as a librarian in Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and as a lecturer inVan Yüzüncü Yıl University. He has been working as the head of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Library since 2006.

Between 2007-2008 he taught Membership in Science Board and information literacy lessons in the Running Projects in Primary and Secondary Education and Science Consultation Education Project (Science Consultation in Education Workshop) run by Department of TÜBİTAK Science Supporting People. In 2014 he was one of the writers of “Towards 2023, Current Status of University Libraries in Turkey, Problems, Standards and Solution Suggestions” report, a mission given by Council of Higher Education as a member of University Libraries Working Group (Improving University Libraries and Setting Standards).

Çetinkaya has worked as a member of AULC Board of Directors since 2010 and has continued to share his professional knowledge and experiences by taking part in various national and international activities in Librarianship field.

Onur BUĞAN

Buğan graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Languages History and Geography with a degree in library science. He started his career (1998-1999) as library and publications manager in Turkish Quality Association (KaLDer). He has been the head of Doğuş University Library since 2017 where he started working in 2001.

Buğan, a member of the Steering Committee of ANKOS and Coordinator of ANKOS Open Access & Institutional Repositories Group since 2018, aims to develop his skills pertaining to topics such as library technologies (data formatting, integrated library systems, exploration interfaces etc.) and microcontrollers/programming.

Mehmet LAÇİNKAYA

He was born in Ankara, 24th August 1987. In 2012, he graduated from Hacettepe University Information and Records Management Department. In 2012, he worked as a librarian in cataloging and updating books and non-books (posters, brochures, calendars, CDs, etc.) in the service supply bid held within the body of the National Library Presidency.
He undertook the founding of a specialization library on city, urbanism and architecture called City Research Library, which is planned to be opened by Pursaklar Municipality in 2013-2014, and carried out all librarianship works and transactions in order to present approximately 7000 materials to the service of readers. He was appointed as a librarian to Nallıhan District Public Library in 2014.
In 2015, he was appointed to the Presidency of the National Library. After working in the Cataloging and Classification Branch Directorate and the Information Systems Branch Directorates,in 2018 he was appointed as the Branch Manager in the Information Systems Branch Directorate and still carries out the same task. He is married and has 2 children.

Nur Özge ÇAKMAK

She was born in 29th April 1987, İzmir. She completed her highschool education in İzmir and Ankara. In 2011, she graduated from Anadolu University Public Administration Department. In 2013, she graduated from Hacettepe University Information and Records Management Department. Between 2016 and 2017 she worked as a librarian at Bilecik Bozüyük Public Library. In April and July of 2017, she worked at Cebeci Public Library. Since July 2017, she has been working in Libraries and Publications General Directorate Publication Standards and Compilation Branch. She is married.

Duygu AKGÜL

She was born in 8th June 1981, Boğazlıyan/ Yozgat. She completed her elementary school and highschool education in Mersin. In 2003, she graduated from İstanbul University Faculty of Literature Library Sciences Department. In 2003-2005, she worked as a librarian for Mersin Ted College. Between 2006 and 2010, she worked as a land registry specialist for Ankara Regional Directorate of Land Registry. Since 2011, she partook in Cataloging, Bibliography, Periodicals for National Library, and lastly she actively partook in the founding and development of EYDES. She continues to work in EYDES Material Supply Department in National Library to this day. She is married with one child.

Filiz EKİNGEN FLORES MAMONDI

She graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Librarianship in 1992

She has been elected as a member of the IFLA Document Supply and Resource Sharing Standing Committee (IFLA DDRS) since 2019, and as the Committee’s Communication Coordinator for the 2021-2023 period, starting from August 2021.

Gwen EVANS

Vice President, Global Library Relations, Elsevier. Gwen has extensive experience with academic and consortial libraries, including ARL libraries, college libraries, and community college libraries. Formerly Executive Director of OhioLINK and Associate Professor and the Coordinator of Library Information and Emerging Technologies at Bowling Green State University, her background includes maintaining and creating shared collaborative services at an executive level state agency, academic content contract negotiations on the consortial level and affordable textbook initiatives including OER as well as overseeing enterprise level technology implementations.

Prof.Dr. Berat Bırfın BİR

Berat Bırfın Bir was born in İstanbul. After graduating from Özel Moda College, she graduated from İstanbul University Department of Arabic Language and Literature and did her master’s degree in Marmara University Contemporary Business field. She finished her second master’s degree in the same university’s Institute of European Union. Later, she received her doctorate in (English) Business Department (Organizational Behaviour).

Currently she is working as a lecturer in Marmara University Department of Information and Records Management. Berat Bırfın Bir specializes in Effective Communication Techniques, Professional Management Principles, Customer Relations Management, Motivation and Productivity, Effective Report Writing, Official Correspondence, Filling, Institutional Knowledge Management. She gave lectures in these fields in institutions such as Ümraniye Municipality, Tuzla Municipality, Sarıyer Municipality, Orhim Consultancy Firm, Kadıköy Municipality, Genç Girişimciler Club and particularly in Hürriyet D&R.

Prof.Dr.Adem KALINLI

Adem KALINLI is a professor of Computer Engineering, his research areas focus on artificial intelligence methods and applications. He is currently working as the Institutional Data Management Coordinator at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.

He has been working on Project Process Management, Research Management, Performance Management, Research Data Management in Higher Education, and University Ranking Systems for more than 15 years. He is also the founder of the Abis Technology company which specializes in the above-mentioned fields. He contributes to the work carried out in this context with many leading universities and various institutions in Turkey.

He has a special interest in Open Science and works to establish an R & D Network and develop open science applications.

Damla BAL

Damla Bal is about to finish her master’s studies in the field of Tourism Management at Budapest Business School, University of Applied Sciences with a focus in marketing and brand development. She has taken an active role in national and international scientific conferences. She was awarded by “Dean’s Commendation” in 2019 and she got “Certificate of Recognition” by the Rector of Budapest Business School, University of Applied Sciences.

She has a passion for understanding and implementing the transition to Open Science that will increase transparency, reliability and more effective collaboration; additionally, foster more comprehensive access to scientific knowledge.

Dr. Alicia Fátima GÓMEZ

Alicia F. Gomez graduated in Translation and Interpreting for German and English at the University of Granada, Spain. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of the Basque Country, and also a Master in Digital Libraries and Information Systems from the University of Carlos III, Madrid, Spain.

Alicia is a scholarly communication specialist and currently works at the Technische Universität Wien Bibliothek (Austria) as Head of Scientometrics and Data Visualisation. Previously she worked as OPENAIRE NOAD at the FECYT, the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology; and was beforehand Research & Scholarly Communications Information Manager at the University of Hertfordshire (UK), and Head of the Library and Information Service at the Spanish National Cardiovascular Research Centre (Spain).

She has an extensive experience in scientific responsible metrics, open science, research data and information management, as well as developing strategies for publishing and disseminating research. She is a member of several professional communities and associations. In the field of metrics, she’s promoter and Co-Chair of the EAHIL Evaluation and Metrics SIG Group, elected member of the Lis-Bibliometrics Committee and member of the IATUL Special Interest Group for Library Services related to metrics and research impact (SIG MaRI).
